コナルの広場にいるのは、精霊たち？
人？ 動物？ 森の住人？ コナルの広場には大勢の彼らがいる。
森や畑を見守っているのか、それとも、彼らはそんなことにはとんちゃくせず、自分たちの会合を開いているのか。不思議なものたちだ。
ライオン、すっとぼけ、意地悪ぎつね、千手観音。広場の一辺に整列している。昼間に見れば愛嬌のあるものたちも夜になれば何をしていることか。
誰が作ったのだろうと思っていた人もあることだろう。内緒の話だけど、制作者はクラブの仲間で画家の青木さん。何年にも渡って彼らを誕生させて来た。今一度、まじまじと見てもらいたい。

Do you know the Conal’s Square? About fifteen of wooden statues are standing next to each other there. Are they living things or spirits of the forest? Are they gods and goddesses guarding our fields and woods? Or are they just holding a meeting about their own matters? They look cute before dark, but I suspect that they are suspiciously loitering around there at night.
